The Gateway Associates program is a unique philanthropic opportunity
to directly assist students in connecting their area of study to their
future professions. Gateway provides financial awards to students to
assist with expenses related to internships, independent research and
international placements. Gateway experiences are available to social
sciences students in a range of concentrations including economics,
anthropology, sociology, psychology and political science. Gateway
Associates will receive an annual report on the program and be invited
to participate in events honoring student achievements. There is also an
opportunity for Rice alumni to mentor students in a Gateway experience.
Alumni and friends of the Rice School of Social Sciences provide much
of the philanthropic support that makes the Gateway program successful.
